ALPHA EVRESIS DIAGNOSTIC CENTER

General Information

For your best service, we suggest that you contact our Customer Service & Support Department before planning your examination so that you are given in detail all the necessary instructions for your medical examination preparation. For any ionizing radiation examination, you have to submit the corresponding referral.

We recommend that you bring previous examinations for the same anatomical region for comparison, if required and / or if you wish. If pregnant or possibility of pregnancy, please inform the staff upon your arrival to our diagnostic centers.

Preparation for CT

For all CT you must submit the corresponding referral, for us to provide you with all the necessary instructions on how to prepare for the examination. In case of examination with administration of an intravenous contrast material, then:

  • You must submit recent (within the last 6 months) complete blood test for renal function assessment (urea, creatinine).
  • You must discontinue metformin medication according to the instructions given to you by our Customer Service & Support Department.
  • You must inform our personnel about any medication you are receiving and possible allergies especially those regarding iodine preparations.

Your preparation for a CT is based on the clinical report, and therefore, submitting the corresponding referral before the examination is compulsory. Below, you can read about some preparation instructions for some of the diagnostic procedures carried out in our establishments:

Cardiac CT

  • Instructions for examinations with administration of intravenous contrast material.
  • Refrain from drinking caffeine and smoking 4 hours prior to the examination. Refrain from any intense or stressful situation.
  • Administration of appropriate b-blockers treatment by your physician before your scheduled appointment. 
  • Pulse monitoring by the nursing and medical personnel.

Abdomen and/or Pelvic CT and Chest, Abdomen and Pelvic CT

  • Instructions for examinations with administration of intravenous contrast material.
  • Oral administration of contrast material from the previous day of the examination, according to the provided instructions by our paramedical personnel.

CT Urogram

  • Instructions for examinations with administration of intravenous contrast material.
  • Drink plenty of fluids prior to the examination (water, juice, tea and/or coffee without milk)

CT of kidneys, ureters, and bladder (CT KUB)

  • Drink plenty of fluids prior to the examination (water, juice, tea and/or coffee without milk).

CT Colonography

  • One day before the examination:
  • From 8:00 AM you should drink plenty of fluids and avoid solid foods (we suggest you consuming mahallepi, gels and soups)
  • At 3:00 PM swallow 1 klean-prep sachet dissolved in 500ml of water
  • At 5:00 PM swallow 50ml of gastrografin
  • From 12:00 AM onwards refrain from consuming anything but water.

Preparation for MRI

In most MRIs there is no need for previous preparation, except: 

Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP): 4-Hour fasting prior to examination.

MR Enterography: 8-Hour fasting prior to examination and arrival 50 minutes earlier from your scheduled examination for the proper preparation.

Breast MRI: Breast MRI is recommended between the 7th and 11th day of the perimenopause cycle for the best diagnostic result. 

To avoid inconvenience, we advise you to report to our Customer Service & Support Department the existence of any foreign metal body (pacemakers, valves, cochlear implants, insulin pump, various foreign objects, prosthesis, stent-catheter implants, alloy or other orthopedic implants, denture, neurostimulators), or if pregnant, so that you are informed if your examination can be performed. Please follow the instructions of the nurses and technologists before entering the MRI area.

Ultrasound Preparation

In most Ultrasounds there is no need for previous preparation, except:

  • Abdominal Ultrasound: 4-6-Hour fast prior to examination.
  • Pelvic Ultrasound: Drink plenty of fluids prior to the examination (water, juice, tea and/or coffee without milk), so that the bladder is full during the examination.

Digital X-RAY

There is no need for previous preparation, except:

  • Pyelogram: You must submit recent (within last 6 months) CBC (for urea and creatinine) and discontinue metformin medication according to the instructions given to you by our Customer Service & Support Department. You must come to our Diagnostic Center no later than the morning of the day before the scheduled appointment, to provide you with oral contrast material by the nursing personnel. You should consume light meals for the rest of the day.

Digital Mammogram Preparation

Digital mammogram is recommended between the 5th and 12th day of the perimenopause cycle for the best diagnostic result, and the least possible discomfort to the breast during the examination.

You must submit previous digital mammogram report for the comparison by your physician.

FIBROSCAN (Elastography Preparation)

There is no need for previous preparation before the examination.

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) Preparation

  • You must submit recent medical examinations regarding this diagnostic procedure.
  • You must submit recent INR test (for blood clotting assessment)
  • Special preparation in consultation with the anesthesiologist of our diagnostic center 

Digital Cone-beam computed tomography systems (CBCT) Preparation

There is no need for previous preparation before the examination.
